Colleen A. Warren is a Certified Legal Specialist – Family Law, as designated by the State Bar of California, and has achieved an “AV” rating by Martindale, the highest rating available to practicing attorneys.

Ms. Warren has been working in family law, as a paralegal and attorney, since 2000. Ms. Warren has been licensed to practice before all courts in the State of California, including the Southern District Court of Appeal, since 2006. Ms. Warren has an extensive litigation background, including law and motion practice and numerous multi-day trials, encompassing all areas of family law, including custody, visitation, move-away requests, complex property characterization, tracing, reimbursement claims, child support and spousal support/alimony. Many of Ms. Warren’s clients have diverse property issues and unique custody disputes.

Ms. Warren is an experienced mediator, having completed extensive training through the National Conflict Resolution Center. Not only does Ms. Warren act as an independent mediator when contracted by both spouses, she also provides consultation and representation services to individual parties integrating mediation into the resolution of their family law issues. She is also trained in the Collaborative law practice, incorporating such training into her everyday practice of the law.

Ms. Warren obtained her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of San Diego, where she also minored in Political Science. Ms. Warren earned her Juris Doctorate from McGeorge School of Law at the University of the Pacific in 2005, where she graduated in the top one-third of her class.

Ms. Warren has received extensive recognition as a Family Law attorney by her peers and colleagues. In March 2013, Ms. Warren was named a “Top Lawyer in San Diego” by San Diego Magazine, an achievement recognizing the “highest in ethical standards and professional excellence.” Ms. Warren was nominated as a “Top Family Law Attorney” in San Diego in 2012, a nomination which was the result of peer nomination. Ms. Warren twice received the designation of “Top Young Attorney” by the San Diego Daily Transcript, in 2010 and 2011.

Ms. Warren and her partners have presented seminars to colleagues, practicing family law and in other areas of the law, on the financial decisions to be made by divorcing parties. Ms. Warren is a frequent speaker at Second and Third Saturday Seminars. She has also lectured at California Western Law School on career development, the practice of family law, and transitioning from school to private practice.

Ms. Warren is a member of the State Bar of California, American Bar Association, San Diego County Bar Association, San Diego Family Law Bar Association, Lawyer’s Club, California Women Lawyers, and several other local and state-wide organizations.

Since entering the legal profession, Ms. Warren has not only dedicated herself to providing first-rate legal services to her clients, she also strives to give back to the community. She served on the Legal Advisory Board to Project SARAH, a domestic violence clinic for low-income and indigent San Diegans and provided pro bono services through this organization. Ms. Warren is also involved in various community enrichment organizations throughout the greater San Diego area.
